About us
An independent association based in Bern.
SolviHum was founded by volunteers living in Switzerland – as a non-profit, politically neutral and independent association under Art. 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code.

Association
What SolviHum is
SolviHum is an association under Swiss law with its registered office in Bern. It pursues no commercial purpose and is not profit-oriented. Its purpose is to develop sustainable solutions to global and structural challenges facing humanity, to create physical and digital platforms for people and institutions who share this vision, and to carry out projects in the public interest.
The association operates locally, nationally and internationally. Its aim is to develop projects that benefit the host country and humanity.

Human rights as a mandate
When the board was constituted, a dedicated responsibility for human rights violations was created, alongside communication, translation and legal affairs – a sign of where the association sees its responsibility: with people whose dignity and rights are violated.
Bern, seat of the federal institutions, is a deliberately chosen home for this.
Approach
How we approach challenges
The statutes name concrete means: education, research and social innovation projects; cooperation with authorities, NGOs, universities and the private sector; and physical and digital platforms connecting volunteers, professionals and resources. Conferences, seminars, cultural and sporting events, campaigns, exhibitions and artistic activities complete the picture.

Swiss base, international perspective
The association is based in Bern and rooted in Switzerland. Under the statutes, funds may be used for projects in Switzerland, for joint projects with the Vicdan Foundation in Türkiye and for cooperation in other European countries – each on the basis of a unanimous board decision.
Principles
Independence and values
SolviHum is politically neutral and independent. The association shares the humanitarian values of the Vicdan Foundation, which operates in Türkiye, but remains fully independent in organisational terms.
Board members work on a voluntary basis; no salaries or allowances are paid. Board members may not take part in decisions concerning themselves or close relatives. Only the association's assets are liable for its obligations.
